My Summer Fashion Fix

Summer is finally here and more importantly holidays are back on and they are just around the corner! So now is the perfect time to get a Fashion Fix curated by me for your summer wardrobe update. I always share mine every season and all I need is 5 items to update my wardrobe. These are items I am missing such as a denim jacket, seasonal pieces like the white dress or holiday updates like the crochet dress.

Your holiday shop or summer shop can be 5 pieces, or larger than that with an online shopping look book depending on what you need. Every online look book is personalised for you by me, read Natalie’s comments after I helped her with her holiday wardrobe…

Post covid, this feels like my first normal Summer. I have a couple of family trips and a long overdue girls trip. I asked Nina to help me with a holiday capsule wardrobe that would cover everything. As always, I’m absolutely delighted! Nina got everything spot on. She found items and outfits that I would never of found or even chosen. She has such a great eye, knows how to push my style so that I feel fabulous everyday whilst on holiday. Thank you Nina!

Fancy a co-ord?

What’s a co-ord I hear you say? It is two piece outfits that match either in print, colour or fabric. This season a co-ord is a must-have. I love the versatility of one, when you wear it together it’s a super stylish outfit, but the pieces can also be worn separately with other pieces in your wardrobe to make up lots more outfits.

Multi-wear co-ords can be dressed up or dressed down for all body shapes, styles and occasions. Requiring minimal styling but arguably causing maximum impact, they’ll not only halve your getting ready time but will also help solve the conundrum of what to wear. First imagined by Coco Chanel in the 1920s, contemporary co-ords have their roots in her instantly recognisable matching tweed cardigan jackets and skirts. For SS22, they come in all shapes, sizes and styles – observed on this season’s catwalks.

Matchy matchy sets are very much on the 2022 style agenda so get yours now.

5 Spring updates to buy now

Wondering what to get this season to bring your wardrobe upto date, well don’t fear here is my Top 5 pieces to invest in and last through Summer.

STRIPE SHIRT

Stripes are everywhere this season, see my blog post ‘Bold Spring stripes’ for more inspiration. But the stripe shirt is the wardrobe hero for this whole year. Wear it tucked into jeans, loose with skirts, over swimwear or open with smart trousers, this versatile piece will ensure it becomes your uniform for the coming weeks (well it is mine!).

NECK SCARVES

The newest accessory that you add to any outfit, but mainly with shirts as above, jumpsuits and to add styling detail to plain t-shirts and blazers.

CREAM /WHITE SHOES

Something that instantly updates your outfit and makes it look more Spring like are lighter coloured shoes. The trend for cream of white footwear has been growing for a while and this is a great time to invest in something that will also work through Autumn.

DENIM

Denim is having a comeback, especially in shirts and dresses this season. Pair the shirts with smart trousers, skirts or hanging loose over vests.

SHIRT DRESSES

The shirt dress is uncomprimising and a wardrobe staple in anyones wardrobe, update it with stripes, prints or bright colours this season.

These few weeks between Winter and Spring are some of the hardest to dress because of the change in weather and its up and down temperatures. It is the right time to put away those Winter woolies but what do you wear now? It’s too cold for t-shirts and bare feet so it’s all about using what you have in your wardrobe and styling it in new ways. Here are 5 outfits to inspire you to look at your wardrobe and re-style pieces you already own, layering clothes and elevating your outfits with accessories and pops of colour.
