High street edit

Navigating the fast-paced world of fashion can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to shopping on the high street. While high street fashion offers a variety of trendy pieces at affordable prices, it can often result in a closet filled with fleeting trends that you go off after one wear. Here I am offering you a chance to see pieces that I know are good quality, that will elevate your style and will align with your personal style. Some pieces to refresh your wardrobe and give your wardrobe a new lease of life for 2024.

It’s around this time of year that we can start getting bored of our wardrobe as we are mid way through Winter now. I have picked out pieces that I have either bought recently, are on my wish list or picked because they have longevity into Spring and years to come.

I have picked an Edit for COOL skintones and one for WARM skintones so you can shop from the links the pieces that suit you best.

Knitted jackets edit

My big prediction for the coming season is that knitted jackets, bomber style jackets, cropped jackets and boucle fabrics are going to be a must-have piece for Spring.

The momentum has been gathering on the bomber shape for a number of years so it is only natural for it to evolve into other fabrics and take on a renewed styling for 2024.

A knitted jacket is like your Shacket move on (and equally annoyingly has to be described everytime you say it). For me a knitted jacket is a heavier weight cardigan, one you could button or zip up, so acts like a jacket but isn’t as heavy or you can wear your coat over the top - got it now? See below for some examples of what this looks like in real life.

The one I am wearing is from H&M last year but so far this year I have seen lots whilst shopping online. See my picks below.

Spring denim 2023

2023 is the year of denim. For whatever reason it is everywhere and worn in every possible way including double denim.

If you buy one thing for spring, make it something denim. Denim is timeless. But its silhouettes aren’t exactly immune to fashion’s trend cycle either. Season after season, there’s continuous excitement and curiosity surrounding what specific looks will enter and exit the chat. Are low-rise jeans back? Are skinny jeans dead? Well, consider these and the rest of your burning sartorial questions for 2023’s spring denim trends answered.

It's easy to style with any wardrobe essential and even easier to fashion into any form, with dresses, skirts, shirts and more made from the failsafe fabric. The styles go much further than our favourite pair of straight-leg jeans. Consumers are seeing denim as more than the everyday basic than it once was. People are, of course, still in the market for that one great fitting pair of everyday jeans, but they’re also looking for something unique and special that they can mix into their everyday rotation.

So whilst low slung jeans are back in style it doesn’t mean we have to wear them. It’s about choosing some great denim pieces and using them back with everything else in your wardrobe for a wearable but upto date look.

Here are the spring/summer 2023 denim pieces that are bound to reap compliments.

The knitted Spring jacket

The knitted jacket is quickly becoming my favourite new Spring item. There are so many great jackets around this year to choose from, blazers, bombers and denim shackets but this one is a great hybrid between a piece of knitwear and a cardigan. It’s currently keeping me warm layer on top of a long sleeve t-shirt and done up, but in the Spring I will wear it open with t-shirts and vests, over dresses and with skirts. Its the perfect piece to update your work or weekend wardrobe. See my picks below…
